How to Use This Calculator

What is Dutching?

Dutching is a betting strategy where you spread your stake across multiple selections in the same event to achieve the same profit regardless of which selection wins. It's commonly used in horse racing, sports betting, and financial trading.

Betting Types Explained

Normal Bet

Free Bet

For when you're using free bet credits from a bookmaker. The calculator adjusts the stake distribution to account for the fact that your stake may not be returned with winnings (SNR - Stake Not Returned).

Step-by-Step Guide

  1. Select your betting type (Normal Bet or Free Bet) from the dropdown menu.
  2. Enter your total stake amount that you want to invest across all selections.
  3. Choose your preferred currency and odds format (decimal or American).
  4. For Free Bets, set the SNR percentage and strategy.
  5. Add as many selections as you want to include in your Dutch bet.
  6. For each selection, enter a name (optional) and the odds offered.
  7. Click "Calculate" to see how to distribute your stake.
  8. The calculator will show you exactly how much to bet on each selection to achieve equal profit.
  9. If the book percentage is below 100%, you have a guaranteed profit opportunity!

Examples

Normal Bet Example

Horse A: Odds 4.50
Horse B: Odds 3.20
Horse C: Odds 6.50

With a £100 total stake, the calculator will show you how to distribute your stake to win the same amount regardless of which horse wins.

Free Bet Example

Horse A: Odds 8.00
Horse B: Odds 6.00

With a £50 free bet (SNR 0%), the calculator will distribute your stake to maximize your profit or ensure equal returns.

Tips for Success

  • The lower the book percentage, the higher your profit margin.
  • For Free Bets, check the terms to see if the stake is returned with winnings.
  • Consider using decimal odds for more accurate calculations.
